That’s another week completed and what a week it has been with ebike news, leaks and launches one after the other.
WATT is our weekly round-up of eBike news where we list all the best bits from the week, plus add in a few extra news bites that we didn’t have time to share with you all.
So WATT was hot this week?
Rocky Mountain Slayer Powerplay
Our biggest and most read news of the week was about rumours that Rocky Mountain could be planning to release a Powerplay version of the 2020 Slayer. The redesigned Slayer dropped this week and we can’t help but think the reason they’ve changed the design after all these years is so they can release an eMTB version of this free ride legend.
Shimano could be working on an E9000 motor as a new top of the line drive systems for ebikes. The E9000 is listed as a compatible motor in a new Lezyne eBike light and while we don’t have firm details we believe it will have a lighter weight body and more power.

Harry Main begins a new Turbo Kenevo chapter
This week, YouTube star Harry Main showed off his latest new bike and it’s an eMTB. Harry has chosen the Turbo Kenevo from Specialized as his new ride (even though there’s a new one coming out) and has already released a couple of videos riding it.
You can watch Harry Main ride his Turbo Kenevo here and here, but we’ve embedded another video above for you to enjoy too.
Lewi Pilgrim’s latest video is live
Lewi Pilgrim’s YouTube channel is gaining subscribers at a rapid pace, but with video editing skills, and riding skills like these it’s hardly surprising really is it.
Tracy Moseley Wins the first E-TMB in Verbier
British downhill racer and all-around mountain bike legend Tracy Moseley has just racked up another win, but this time on an eMTB. TMO was one of the pros to take part in the first E-Tour du Mont Blanc this week and she and her racing partner Nathalie Schneitter came first in the women’s race.
Giant’s 2020 eBikes got a new member this week with the release of the Reign E. This all alloy big travel bike has a Yamaha motor, and 160mm of travel for big mountain adventures. We’re really excited by the pricing of the Reign too and for the money you get some really high end kit.
