2020 Trek Rail eBikes appear on dealer websites ahead of launch

Details of the unreleased 2020 Trek Rail range of eBikes listed on online dealer websites with prices ranging from £3,900 – £10,500.
A day doesn’t go by without news of more 2020 eBikes. Today is no different with leaked, but unofficial news of a new Trek eBike, the 2020 Trek Rail.
Numerous online bicycle retailers in the UK have delisted product pages for the new Trek, but although these online stores have tried their best to hide the information, it hasn’t prevented search engines from throwing the bike up in search results.
Simply searching “2020 Trek Rail” brings up a handful of UK stores. Though none have gone as far to list the complete specifications of the bikes, many have listed the full name of each bike, along with pricing and in some cases images.
From these searches we’ve concluded that the 2020 Trek Rail range will comprise of;
Trek Rail 5 – £3,900
Trek Rail 7 – £4,800
Trek Rail 9.7 £3,500
Trek Rail 9.8 – £6,250
Trek Rail 9.9 – £10,500

The most affordable Trail Rail eBike is the Rail 5. Available in this Black Olive Grey / Trek Black color combo this eBike runs a Bosch motor and internal battery. The render shows the Rail 5 comes with a dropper post, RockShox suspension and the product info mentions SRAM SX, the budget 1×12 Eagle offering. Cost of the Trek Rail 5 will be £3,900 in the UK.
2020 Trek Rail 7
Next in line is the Trek Rail 7 available in a Black / Rage Red color. Like the Rail 5 the Rail 7 is an alloy framed bike with Bosch CX Gen 4 motor and integrated battery. Suspension is RockShox and a dropper post is fitted as standard. Gearing on the Rail 7 is a mix of Shimano SLX and XT. Pricing in the UK will be £4,800.
2020 Trek Rail 9.7
The Rail 9.7 appears to the first carbon Rail in the lineup. Costing £5,500 in the UK, the 9.7 gets a RockShox Yari fork, Bosch motor, and battery and 1×12 SRAM NX drivetrain.
2020 Trek Rail 9.8
For the 9.8 the Trek rail runs an Eagle GX drivetrain, RockShox Lyrik fork, and 4 piston disc brakes. UK price for the Trail Rail 9.8 is £6,250.
2020 Trek Rail 9.9
The top-end Trail Rail 9.9 comes in a stealth black finish, has a carbon frame and Gen 4 Bosch motor. The range-topper also uses SRAM AXS wireless gear shifting.
While all of this information remains unofficial and we still wait for confirmation from Trek, it does look as though there is still some time to wait before the Rail eBikes will be available to order. Online store Nevis Cycles is listing a “stock due” date of 22/10/19 but this doesn’t mean the official launch won’t happen earlier.
